Jim and Breanna Randall live with their two children in a working-class neighborhood on the outskirts of Yangon, Myanmar. Their primary focus is to support the work of local Christians through ongoing involvement in their community.
Myanmar is home to a wide range of ethnic and linguistic diversity; there are over 140 distinct people groups through the country (and for reference, Myanmar is the same geographical size as the state of Texas). Jim is proficient in two Myanmar languages, Rakhine and Burmese, and spends most of his time doing translation and resource development related to those languages. Most of these projects are done together with local partners, with the goal of developing Biblical resources that are accessible and understandable for more Christian lay people throughout the country.
One of their recent projects is the Burmese language translation of the Jesus Storybook Bible. Jim has also developed an Android application for smartphones that features the Burmese Jesus Storybook Bible. Jim also works with local community leaders who wish to have the Jesus Film produced in their local language. He has been involved with producing and recording several Jesus Film projects so far.
